At the forefront stands the Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle) — a beloved and symbolic centerpiece. This particular instrument holds a deeply personal story: discovered in an antique shop in Amsterdam in 2022, it was gifted to my teacher in Mongolia, who named it Khüren Khalzan Khuur. A gesture of respect, a bridge between worlds.
Behind the fiddle rise two ethereal and rare harps: the Bugan Yatga (Deep Harp) and the Altai Harp — ancient instruments rediscovered in 2008 in a hidden grave cave in the remote Western Altai Mountains. Since their unveiling, a revival has begun, led by dedicated musicians determined to return their sound to the Mongolian steppe. As part of that movement, I’m honored to contribute to their resurgence and share their legacy through this design.
All of the instruments rest on a symbolic blanket adorned with ancient Mongolian rock carvings, echoing the timeless connection between music, ancestors, and land.
